August 2024 Ambassador Highlight: Laura Etscheid

​We love our ambassador team and are very grateful to have their support! Our Chamber ambassadors are an extension of the Chamber staff, allowing our members to have more points of contact. We want to highlight each ambassador as a 'thank you' for their continued support and dedication that they put into the ambassador team.

We asked each ambassador a set of questions in an effort to become better acquainted and get a preview of their life outside of ambassador work. For August, we will be highlighting the great Laura Etscheid! ​

Life as an Ambassador

When asked about her favorite aspect of being an ambassador, Laura said “the chance to connect with a diverse group of professionals and learn about the innovative ways they contribute to our community. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of an organization that makes a tangible impact, and I enjoy the opportunities to network, collaborate, and help businesses thrive in our local area.”

Laura has been an ambassador for three years, prompting her to engage and support local businesses, foster meaningful relationships, and represent the Chamber at various events. Additionally, this role has allowed her to grow her professional network and skills.

Life Outside of Being an Ambassador

Outside of Ambassador life, Laura is the Commercial Lending Relationship Manager at 1st Security Bank. She’s also a mom to three energetic boys, enjoying spending her time with them outdoors. Whether it's exploring nature trails, playing in parks, or family adventures, she cherishes every moment. 

She also has a strong passion for reading, both solely and as a family as they dive into captivating stories together. Balancing outdoor activities with cozy reading sessions is Laura’s perfect way to stay balanced while making core memories.

​Hopes for the Ambassador Program

Laura used these three words to describe how it feels to be an ambassador: empowering, fulfilling, and impactful. 

Future opportunities she would like to see in the Chamber ambassador program include "offering workshops or training sessions focused on skills development, such as public speaking or leadership, to help ambassadors excel in their roles." Additionally, she highlighted the importance of establishing "regular feedback channels to gather input from mentees to refine the program," as this would "ensure diverse perspectives and create greater inclusivity."
