Make the Most of Your Chamber Membership

Joining the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber is more than adding your business to a membership list—it’s an opportunity to build relationships, stay informed, grow your visibility, and play an active role in the South Sound business community.

Whether you’re new to the Chamber or have been a member for years, there are plenty of ways to get involved throughout the year. Here are some of the best ways to make the most of your membership.

Start by Getting Connected

The best place to begin your Chamber journey is Chamber Connect, our bimonthly orientation designed to help you get acquainted with the Chamber and everything your membership has to offer.

You’ll meet the Chamber team, learn about programs and resources, explore your Member Info Center Portal, and discover ways to maximize your membership. It’s also a great opportunity to start building relationships with other members.

From there, make networking a regular part of your Chamber experience. Chamber After Hours brings members together at businesses throughout Pierce County for relaxed conversations, new connections, and opportunities to learn more about local businesses.

If you’re looking to start your day with connection and conversation, West Side Wakeup offers monthly networking along with community updates and the chance to connect with neighbors on the west side.

Stay Informed and Connected to the Region

Your Chamber membership can also help you better understand the issues, trends, and opportunities shaping our region.

Through the Government Affairs Committee (GAC), members can hear directly from elected officials and policy experts while staying informed about issues impacting the community.

The Regional Access Mobility Partnership (RAMP) provides opportunities to learn about transportation, infrastructure, and mobility projects affecting the region, while the Manufacturing Industrial Council (MIC) brings manufacturers and industry leaders together to discuss workforce development, economic growth, and issues affecting the manufacturing sector.

These opportunities give members a seat at the table—and a chance to better understand the forces shaping the South Sound business environment.

Put Your Business in the Spotlight

Your membership is also an opportunity to increase your business’s visibility and celebrate important milestones.

One of the most visible ways to do that is through a Chamber ribbon cutting ceremony. Hosted at your location, ribbon cuttings give you an opportunity to celebrate your business alongside fellow Chamber members, community partners, and local elected officials.

Whether you're opening a new business, moving into a new location, celebrating an expansion, or reaching another milestone, a ribbon cutting can help you share your story with the community. Members can request a ceremony, with three to four weeks recommended for planning.

Make Connections at Signature Events

Throughout the year, the Chamber hosts signature events that bring business and community leaders together around important conversations and opportunities.

At the Horizons Economic Forecast each January, regional experts share insights on the economic outlook and trends impacting our business community.

In June, the Happy Hour Business Expo gives members an opportunity to showcase their businesses through exhibitor booths while networking with fellow members and community leaders.

The Chamber Annual Meeting in October provides an opportunity to reflect on the Chamber’s impact, recognize the leadership shaping our region, and share the strategic vision driving the South Sound’s future.

And each December, the Public Officials Holiday Reception brings elected officials, business leaders, and community partners together to celebrate the holiday season.

From your first Chamber Connect to your next networking event, committee meeting, or ribbon cutting, there are countless ways to get involved.
The more you engage, the more value you can get from your membership.
