In 1988, the Downtown Tacoma Business Improvement Area (BIA) was created to keep downtown safe and clean. As the city has grown, we have grown as well into the Downtown Tacoma Partnership.
Today, we continue to maintain expansive safe and clean services, while also providing community beautification, marketing services, and retail support and recruitment. Look for our team keeping our downtown streets safe, clean, and welcoming. |

About Our CommunitySince old and new Tacoma joined forces in 1884, this city has been built on a culture of collaboration. The city continues that today by welcoming everyone to be a part of the story.
Our welcoming nature is deeply rooted in the story of this place, since Downtown Tacoma is on the traditional land of the Puyallup people, whose name means “generous and welcoming to all”. The uniqueness and diversity of this community is at the heart of who we are downtown. |
