Serving Our Military
Joint Base Lewis-McChord is not only one of the state's largest employers, with more than 61,000 workers who show up daily, but also one of the primary economic drivers in the South Sound.
Through our advocacy programs and community partnerships, we work to ensure JBLM remains a vital and viable player in the local economic landscape. We focus our workforce development efforts on supporting active duty and transitioning military and their spouses by connecting them with permanent, family-wage jobs.
Connect with a Talented Workforce
Through a contract with Camo2Commerce (C2C), the Chamber works to be a conduit and pipeline between employers and transitioning servicemembers and their spouses. C2C is a federally funded program on a mission to assist transitioning Servicemembers and spouses take the next, or often first, step in their civilian careers.
Camo2Commerce offers several different employment and training programs for transitioning service members and active duty spouses including the WorkEx program.
Veteran-friendly companies can apply to host service members and spouses for an 8 week program. A successful WorkEx experience could lead to further support of a compensated on-the-job training for the service member or spouse
